Rise Wilkinson PR

PR

John Wilkinson, former director at Freshwater, has launched his own agency – Wilkinson PR (okay, no prizes for guessing the name) from his base in South Wales.

Shrugging off concerns about the performance of the communications sector during the economic crisis, Wilkinson told trade press; “Businesses will always need to communicate with their clients and customers, even more so during these difficult times.”

Wilkinson PR will be aggressive in their portfolio of services and aren’t limited to just PR campaigns. The agency will offer graphic design, print as well as web site design. It’s been quick off the mark and has a number of clients including Knowledge Networks International, Capital Region Tourism and the heart charity Alun Jenkins Memorial Fund.

A hat tip to PRWeek for the news but a slap on the risk for the shocking lack of URL for the new agency in their version of the story.

Over at WikinsonPR.co.uk we find the phrase “Welcome to WPR’s online world – feel free to explore” so we’re left to wonder whether the agency might aspire to grow into the WPR brand and start to lean less heavily on John Wilkinson’s respected name (and avoid clashes with Wisconsin Public Radio…) .
